Free From Fear by Brent Phillips – Never Just Exist
We often accept something as normal when everyone around us is doing it. When did fear, worry and stress become normal for the body of Christ? When did living with fear, worry and stress become a lifestyle for a child of God. Let God expose it and cause you to live free from fear.
Speaker: Brent Phillips
If we can get enough people to embrace an idea it will become normal. When everyone is doing something it becomes acceptable. When did it become acceptable for Christians to live in fear? If we worship an almighty God we should not live with fear. Fear can show up in our lives as stress, worry, responsibility, or many other things. We need to set our standard by God’s word which is an unchanging standard. God’s standard will put us on a solid foundation for life. We need to find out what is acceptable to God and not to the world.
Fear does not come from God, we are suppose to live free from fear. It is not endorsed from heaven. Why would we want something in our life that does not come from God? If all things are possible with God, why do we entertain fear? Someone without fear looks reckless to someone with fear. When we have God on our side there is no recklessness and no fear.
David challenged a giant with nothing but a sling and some stones. Everybody thought he was crazy. The thing they were leaving out of the equation was God. In any situation, what determines the victory is God. If we truly believe that God will do what he said he will do, there is no place for fear.
When we ponder on God’s word, seeds are planted. Fear works the same way; seeds of fear can be sown in our hearts. We need to fill ourselves with the seeds of faith through God’s word.
How do we live free from fear? Understand that the fear is not real. Our problems may be real, but our fear is not. God’s promises are real. Every worry has a corresponding promise from God. The truth of God’s word will expose the lie of the fear. Recognize that fear is unbelief. When you fear, you are saying “I don’t believe that God really is who he is.” Renew your mind by planting the seeds of faith in God’s word. The fear will have no room to grow.
